Brač is the island of white marble. Its interior is all of white marble and everything on it is of white marble.

From the earliest times, man and stone have lived and worked together on Brač. The people of Brač do not excavate stone, they gather it with respect and gratitude, as a priceless fruit of the earth. Here, the centuries have been bound into the rock, into the marble, into a harmony of beauty.

Brač entered history when in the 6th century, Roman emperor Gaius Aurelius Diocletian ordered the construction of his magnificent palace from Brač stone in the centre of modern-day Split. From those days on, the craft of Brač has continued to live through generations of the best stonemasons.

Throughout history the most magnificent works of architecture have been built from Brač stone: Diocletian’s Palace in Split, the White House in Washington, the Parliament and New Palace in Vienna, the Parliament in Budapest and the Regent’s Palace in Trieste to name but a few.
